This is the first look at Samsung Galaxy Fit 3
Samsung will release a new fitness tracker called Samsung Galaxy Fit 3, and we’ve got the first images from our trusted source that confirm its existence.
There have been talks and rumors about Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 since we heard rumors about a patent that seemed to describe the device.
It has been a long while since Samsung released a fitness tracker. Fit 2 was launched in September 2020, and the new Galaxy Fit 3 shows a remarkable evolution in design.
Its main competitors are the Fitbit, Xiaomi, and Garmin trackers, and their manufacturers already have a tradition of producing such devices.
Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 design and features
We don’t know much about the technical specifications of Samsung Galaxy Fit 3. Still, Fit 2 has a 1.1-inch full-color AMOLED screen, heart rate monitor, gyro, accelerometer, sleep tracking, and automatic workout detection. Of course, it also featured display notifications and music playback control for the paired smartphone.
The Galaxy Fit 3 display is obviously much bigger, and from what we can tell, it might have an Android OS instead of the old rtOS, but it looks like Samsung definitely included a vivid AMOLED display.
By looking at the back of Galaxy Fit 3, we also notice a heart rate monitor sensor and docking connections.
Although Fit 3 looks slimmer than Fit 2, it might also include the GPS sensor that the older model lacked.
We also might expect built-in memory for storage and stand-alone music playback while it’s not connected to the phone.
A great feature that made Fit 2 popular was the fact that you could change the wristband that included the rubber bezel of the fitness tracker. That gave you the opportunity to get a band in any color you would like to fit your mood or clothes.
At first glance, Fit 3 has no hinge or mechanism to replace the band. If you can’t change it, you will be stuck with whatever colors Samsung releases.
We don’t know anything about Fit 3’s autonomy yet, but Fit 2 had approximately 15 days of battery life on normal usage and 21 days with low usage. Since 2020, batteries have become more efficient, but we can expect the same from Fit 3 if we consider the bigger screen.
Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 price and availability
We don’t have that information yet, but Fit 2 was released at $59 three years ago. However, Fit 3 looks like a more expensive tracker.
About the launch date, fitness trackers are traditionally launched together or around the date of a smartphone release. Since we’re expecting Samsung Galaxy S24 in January 2024, that will also be a great opportunity for the Fit 3 launch.
Will it be launched for Christmas this year instead? It could be a great present for fitness and fashion buffs alike.
