In a surprising turn of events, Remedy has announced lowering the minimum system requirements for Alan Wake 2 on PC, starting with version 1.0.16.1.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the team shared the new system requirements.
The difference, as clearly visible in the post, is with respect to the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). While the minimum GPU requirements previously were GeForce RTX 2060 and Radeon RX 6600, it’s now lowered to GeForce GTX 1070 and Radeon RX 5600 XT.
Also, those on the GTX 10xx series should get a decent performance after the rollout of the latest version, 1.0.16.1. This isn’t just a performance-based update but will also let millions run Alan Wake 2 on PCs that were previously unsupported.
However, there are still concerns about the 16 GB RAM requirement, an Intel i5-7600K or AMD equivalent CPU, and 90 GB free SSD storage.
While it’s understandable, given the experience (graphics and rendering) developers intend to deliver, slightly cutting back on these will allow millions more to play the action-packed horror game!
On supported PCs, you can download the Alan Wake 2 from the Epic Games store.
