FTC’s new public records about the Microsoft case are out, and it has a lot of interesting information, to say the least. Not only Xbox is presented as losing the consoles wars, but the generation of consoles should be out in 5 years, 2028.

And speaking of consoles, the new FTC documents are also hinting at the possibility of a new Singural game. So Singularity 2 might actually be in the works, according to the Microsoft internal emails. Other projects such as Zipline and Neutrino, also hint for new video games.

Now, at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 and Starfield Direct event, Microsoft announced that over 5000 new games are currently in development for the console and for Windows. So Singularity 2 might not be just a rumor, but an actual fact.

This is exciting news, considering Singularity is 13 years old game for Windows and Xbox 360. Could it be that Microsoft is really considering bringing to life old games? We recently discussed how Halo: Combat Evolved might be getting a remake, so this would be a very nice addition to that.

Singularity 2 might come to Xbox, and Windows

As we mentioned earlier, Singularity was released in 2010, on Windows, Xbox, but also PlayStation. The video game is a first-person shooter with horror and science fiction elements, where a soldier is able to go back in time.

The game enjoyed critical and commercial success at the time, with many critics finding it entertaining and quite fun to play. However, with most older games, Singularity has built a community around it, and many gamers are still playing it up to this day.

According to the files, there is a Singularity follow-up, called Project Zipline — Zynga Strategy. Since the project is in development at Microsoft, can we conclude that Singularity 2 might also be an Xbox/Windows exclusive?

It might be very possible. The roadmap for Xbox looks very exciting already, and with this game coming to it, Microsoft could increase sales on the Xbox console.

At least, this is how it looks so far.
