You might not be aware, but Bing AI has a secret personality, Sydney, and Microsoft has been testing it out for years, according to The Verge. In fact, Sydney is not a personality, per se, but merely a sort of Bing prototype, which was used in the past for the Redmond-based tech giant to experiment on.

But it seems parts of Sydney still remain in today’s Bing AI, and with the release of Copilot on the Windows Insider Program channels, you can enable it to become Sydney.

As you might know, users have found that Windows 11’s Copilot is based on Bing AI, and Copilot itself uses Edge when interacting with you. So it is perfectly reasonable to find some old Bing AI parts in Copilot today.

And guess what? You can do it. You can actually enable Sydney Bing AI chatbot in Windows 11’s Copilot. It’s not complicated and we’re going to show you exactly how.

Here’s how you can enable Sydney Bing AI chatbot on Windows 11’s Copilot

For this to work, first you need to be in the Windows Insider Program. You can easily register to be a part of it, and it only takes a couple of minutes, a restart, and a Windows Update.

So, assuming you have done this already, here’s what you have to do:

  1. Go to the Windows Insider Program, and switch to the Dev Chanel, if you’re not on it already.sydney bing ai chatbot
  2. Update your Microsoft Edge to the latest version possible.

  4. Run the installer and install it.
  5. Open ViveTool GUI, and select 23493.1000.sydney bing ai chatbot
  6. Enable the following features one at a time: 44774629, 44850061, 44776738, 42105254.
  7. Then, restart your computer.
  8. And there you have it. When you open your Windows 11’s Copilot, the Sydney Bing AI chatbot should be greeting you.sydney bing ai chatbot

Sydney Bing AI chatbot will use the internet as well, to provide you with answers, but it seems the tool is far more carefree than Bing AI, and Copilot.

However, it’s still an interesting tool, and it might give you a sense of what Microsoft was thinking about AI several years ago.

Will you try it? If so let us know in the comments section below your thoughts and opinions on this Bing AI prototype.
