Good news for Overwatch 2 heroes fans: In the first Overwatch 2 developer update 2024, Aaron Keller, the game director, said that starting with the upcoming hero Venture, Overwatch 2 heroes will no longer need a Battle Pass at launch, and this includes all previous Overwatch 2 heroes. Moreover, the new heroes will be available for all gamers to play simultaneously.

With this, the company also introduced a new method to unlock and upgrade Mythic skins in Overwatch, intending to empower players to choose which Mythic skin to work towards.

In addition, with season 10, you will get a Mythic Shop, enabling you to acquire Mythic skins even from previous seasons you missed.

Furthermore, various new maps are under development, with some scheduled to launch with the upcoming seasons of the game, like a new Push map, Runasapi (Peru), coming in Season 11

Blizzard Entertainment is taking feedback on current maps like Havana so that they can improve them for the upcoming seasons.

Most game enthusiasts have asked developers to devote time to live maps while they focus on making new ones, and Aaron Keller promised to work on this.

He also mentioned that the developers would be working on Colosseo in Season 11, and after Season 12, we can expect them to be focused on reworks on the existing maps, like Dorado, Havana, Circuit Royal, and Numbani.

In the update, Overwatch also mentioned a new game mode, Clash, and informed us that we can expect two new maps to be released later this year.

Aaron Keller said they will run a limited-time Clash playtest on Hanaoka at the beginning of Season 10.

With all the information about the upcoming seasons and changes we can expect, the game director mentioned that the Overwatch community is on track to cross 100 million players by next season.

He mentioned that we, the gamers, are the main focus. The developers at Overwatch create the game around us, and feedback is used to improve the game with every season.

With this promise and dedication, Overwatch 2 seems to have won hearts, and its ability to reach 25 million players just after its launch in 2022 is proof of this.
