Well, the new year feeling is all but gone by now and it’s time to focus on the important things that make up our day-to-day life.

And, now that the second Tuesday of February is here, we are getting another batch of Patch Tuesday updates that many users have been eagerly waiting for.

As with all the other Patch Tuesday updates of previous months, these bring a host of changes, fixes, and improvements to all supported versions of the Windows OS.

Last month’s update release included fixes for 98 vulnerabilities, so we could be looking at a pretty light month this time around.

What should I expect from the February 2023 Patch Tuesday?

Yes, this year’s Patch Tuesday rollout falls exactly on Valentine’s Day but will it really be a special date or just more of the regular?

While users have been dealing with ongoing cyber-attacks of all kinds, it has been relatively quiet on the release of new patches from Microsoft.

You might as well also expect that trend to continue next week though we may have some updates for the Dev and Beta Insider Channels.

The good news is that Microsoft managed to address a large number of CVEs last month for the Windows 7 and Server 2008 ESU closeout.

Even the newer OS versions, Windows 11 and Windows 10 had 66 and 64 CVEs addressed respectively, so there might be a need to include that as well.

Experts actually suspect there will be fewer CVEs addressed this month as they have caught up a bit, so expect a light set of updates for all the server and desktop operating systems.

All this mystery will dissipate in a few hours when we post the actual release, so we can all get a better idea of what Microsoft envisioned.
